2024 Democratic Candidates

Candidate for U.S. Congress District NY-22

Sarah Klee Hood won the endorsement vote of the Madison County Democratic Committee.

Sarah Klee Hood is an Air Force veteran, elected councilor, mother raising two young daughters, environmental policy expert, and native Central New Yorker.  Sarah currently lives in Dewitt, New York and is an elected DeWitt Town Councilor.

Candidate for NY Senate District 53

James Meyers is a veteran with a strong background in service and leadership.  His priorities in Albany include public safety, economic development, and accessible and affordable healthcare.  When elected to the New York State Senate, he will make the 53rd district a place where everyone will thrive.

James joined us for our February 13 Oneida Committee meeting.  He talked to us about some of his priorities for our area: safe and healthy communities, education and workforce development, veteran support, access to physical health and mental health resources, and transparent and accountable government.  We are excited to support this hard-working new candidate!

Candidate for NY Assembly District 122

Adrienne Martini has served on the Otsego County Board of Representatives since 2018.  As a four-term elected official, Adrienne knows how important it is that we elect folks who are experienced, practical, and effective.  During her time on the Otsego County Board of Representatives, she has worked across the aisle to deliver for her constituents and for the people of the county.  Her legislative priorities in the Assembly include ensuring that everyone in New York has access to comprehensive, affordable health and mental health care close to home; making public health decisions more transparent and understandable; ensuring access to affordable broadband so we can learn and work in our communities; and making sure that Upstate New York is a place with opportunities where people can afford to and want to live, work, and raise their families.

Candidate for U.S. Senate

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand received the state Democratic party's designation at the state party's nominating convention on February 14.

Kirsten has accomplished many things for the American people since she became a senator in 2009.  Kirsten led the effort to repeal the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy that banned gay people from serving openly in the military and passed the historic 9/11 health bill, which ensured that first responders and 9/11 survivors got the health care they deserved.  More recently, she passed major legislation to give benefits to veterans exposed to toxic burn pits overseas, passed the first-ever federal law making domestic gun trafficking a crime, and reformed the military justice system on behalf of service members.
